LEARN ONLINE SHOPPING SAFETY TIPS TO HELP YOU GETTING SCAMMED

Kedaivape want to bring you the best shopping and selling experience. Don’t let scammers ruin it – stay alert and look out for these tricks.

Have you ever been contacted by a ‘Kedaivape Seller’ privately asking you to make payment for your order outside of the Kedaivape website or apps ?

If you encounter a similar case, the chances are you’ve bumped into a scam!

Let’s look into their tactics & prevent yourself from falling into one.

How it happens ?

After you placed an order via the Kedaivape website or apps, the scammer who impersonates as a Kedaivape seller will reach out to you via different channels (Kedaivape chat, WhatsApp & etc) by offering you a lower price.

The scammer will request to cancel your order placed on Kedaivape, then to secure a new order by making payment transfer via the QR code provided.

After the payment is successfully done, the scammer will go missing & the order will never be fulfilled.

IMPORTANT NOTES !

  1. Do not fall for the seller’s trick that offers something at a cheaper price via QR payment or outside of the Kedaivape website or apps.
  2. Secure your order from Kedaivape’s checkout page only & not by payment transfer via QR code to the seller’s account.
  3. Report the seller to Kedaivape if you’re required to make a transaction outside of the Kedaivape website or apps.

Variant 1 : A job offer that requires you to pay to get paid

  • This is a tactics to lure victims and shape a false sense of security that “No way the scammer will give me money”
  • The “reward” will be paid to the victim in batches to make the whole situation looks promising and convincing.

You will be added to a group chat.

  • A WhatsApp link will be provided to you so you can contact the scammer

After the contact is made, the scammer would insist on serveral “procedures”.

  • They will ask for your full name, bank account number, Kedaivape ID – once again to create a false sense of security that scammers will not take time to do this and this is definitely from a legitimate seller
  • The scammer will proceed with the refund, in which you will receive a small amount in your bank account

One all these are done, you will then be asked to perform a “feedback activity”.

  • If you do this, you will receive RM150 in return
  • However, you need to pay it and before you can get RM150 as promised, the scammer would be long gone
